I’m planning a trip abroad and I keep thinking, what level of language do you actually need? A1, A2, B1? I just want at least some confidence so I don’t get lost. But I don’t really have time right now to suddenly sit down and study hard.

In my opinion, you don’t need to be fluent to travel comfortably, but a basic conversational level helps a lot. Knowing how to ask for directions, order food, or handle simple situations is usually enough. When I prepared for my trips, I used resources like https://promova.com/english-grammar/comparative-adjectives-in-english to strengthen my grammar, which made me feel more confident. A little practice goes a long way.
